Mertz Canyon Ranch is located on a thin divide between the Devils River & Pecos River watersheds. Bert Mertz Canyon traverses its way through a large portion of the ranch providing scenic views, live oak Motts, rock ledges and productive soils deep within the bottoms. To the north is Government Canyon, like Bert Mertz Canyon, it is filled with live oak trees and other diverse brush common to the Edwards Plateau region. Wildlife includes whitetail, turkey, hogs, dove, quail, and various free ranging exotics.
